Sensei was founded by Larry Ellison, technology pioneer and co-founder of Oracle, and Dr. David Agus, a world-leading physician and scientist. The two leading innovators were brought together by the loss of a close friend and motivated by a shared purpose: to help people live longer, healthier lives.
Sensei applies data-driven health knowledge and utilizes technology to create premier wellbeing retreats to promote preventative care and healthy lifestyle practices.
Tandem had the honor to work with Sensei’s product team, which happened to be across the street from Tandem’s studio in Santa Monica.
Our design and engineering efforts have produced a device that supports this holistic cycle of recovery and growth. Tailored for high‑end resort and spa environments, it enhances massage sessions by facilitating natural movement and rest without relying on electrical power, creating a harmonious, intuitive experience that complements human‑led therapy. Its thoughtful form and function meet both the aesthetic expectations of luxury wellness settings and the performance standards practitioners require.

Inspired by the flowing boat-tail form of a sail yacht, the design conveys motion, balance, and a sense of spiritual passage.
Crafted from solid teak, CNCed aluminum, the product features a base milled from a solid billet of aviation-grade aluminum to ensure stability and seamless design.
